Night visit to Alhambra (Nasrid palaces) : September 19th

The event will begin at 20.00 h. with a cocktail at Carmen de los Mártires, near the Alhambra. After that (22.00 h.) the visit will start at the Alhambra Atrium and continues along a passageway by the walls, looking onto the Torre del Agua (Water Tower), Torre de Baltasar de la Cruz, Torre de los Siete Suelos (Seven-Storeyed Tower), Tower del Capitán, Torre de la Bruja (Tower of the Witch) and Torre de las Cabezas (Tower of Heads), arriving at the Palace of Charles V (on visit) through the gates Puerta de la Justicia or the Puerta de los Carros. The visit continues through the following areas:

  • Patio de Machuca
  • Mexuar
  • Patio Dorado and Cuarto Dorado
  • Court of the Myrtles (Patio de los Arrayanes)
  • Sala de la Barca
  • Throne room
  • Mirador de la Reja
  • The Emperor’s chambers
  • Carlos V corridor
  • Sala de Dos Hermanas (including visit to the Sala de los Ajimeces and the Mirador de Lindaraja)
  • Court of the Lions (Patio de los leones)
  • Sala de los Mocárabes
  • Patio de los Arrayanes (south gallery)
  • Puerta del Príncipe (exit gate)

Banquet dinner: September 20th, 21 hours

El Claustro Restaurant (Hotel Palacio de Santa Paula, Gran Vía, 31) is headed by the winner of the national championship best chef of Spain (2009): Juan A. R. Morilla. El Claustro offers a wide variety of andalusian traditional cousine with a spectacular bouch of innovation from the appetizers to the desserts. The restaurant owes its name to the location: the courtyard of an old palace, presided by a majestic fountain and sorrounded by beatiful arches. Menu:

  • Welcome reception
  • Salad of Alpujarreños, fried cheese with ham and salmorejo
  • Pastela of lamb and bird with sauce of dates
  • Golden fish filet with emulsion of spring onions
  • Dessert cake with almond cream
  • Coffee and infusions
  • Red wine, white wine, mineral water, soft drinks and beer

The workshop is hosted by the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, Granada University, Spain.
